If you're building a new home and you've decided to incorporate solar panels for energy, there are only a few good places to put them. You won't want to put them in an obvious spot or they could become an eyesore. Here are three creative places to put your solar panels.

Porch Roofing

If you have a porch with the design of the home and it will face south, you can use your solar panels as porch roofing. This can make it easy to gain the power you want and the roofing all in one shot. It may take quite a few panels to cover the porch, but this just mans you will gain more energy benefits from the multiple solar panels.

As an Overhang

Maybe you want to create an overhang above your garage or another door. This provides the opportunity to incorporate solar panels for both energy efficiency and as the overhang. The panes can be used to help power your hot water heater or another appliance in the garage or just used as a part of the energy of your home.

In the Yard

A common place to put solar panels, due to the room and the ability to point them in the right direction, is the yard. Yard installation allows plenty of flexibility, but if not incorporated correctly, the panel can become an eyesore. However, you can use the panel as a roof over a fenced area for pets or as another part of the yard decor.

If you plan to use solar panels for part or all of your home's power supply, you may need to get creative with the placement. They act as a nice roof for certain areas, if they face the right way. Incorporate them into the design of your home and you won't be stuck with some eyesore on your property.
